As for concerns regarding bird flu affecting egg prices, Bergquist is optimistic. He does not expect bird flu to influence egg prices this summer, given the recent decline in virus cases. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there have been no reported cases among egg-laying flocks in 2023. However, there were six instances of infection in commercial turkey flocks between February and April 2023.
