According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, despite an increase in global sunflower seed production, the demand for domestically produced seeds remains stable, both nationally and internationally, due to the U.S. product’s consistently larger size and uniform quality.

With growing consumer interest driven by trendy recipes in upscale restaurants, the popularity and market demand for sunflower seeds are likely to rise. Despite the anticipated increase in demand, the National Sunflower Association indicates that prices for sunflower seeds intended for consumption and oil production are expected to remain stable for the remainder of the year.
