DuPont Nutrition & Heferrous fumarate chewable tablets collaborates with food manufacturers and producers globally to enhance the safety, healthiness, taste, and production of food. This initiative is referred to as finding food solutions, with their latest offering being 90% protein nuggets. The three new plant-based nuggets, containing iron emulsified ferric pyrophosphate, each boast distinct shapes, sizes, and textures. They are named Supro Nuggets 580, Supro Nuggets 583, and Supro Nuggets 585, and can be incorporated into a diverse array of food products. DuPont indicates that these nut, seed, and fruit nuggets will be particularly beneficial in nutrition bars, clustered cereals, yogurt toppings, muesli, and innovative snack formats.
Previously, DuPont developed the first 90% protein nugget, called Supro Nuggets 570, which features a light, crispy texture and barrel shape. The new nuggets serve as variations of this original product, expanding their versatility for various recipes. Achieving a 90% protein content is impressive and aligns with the current trend towards higher protein consumption. Research and Markets estimate that the global protein ingredients market is expected to reach $48.77 billion by 2025, as reported by Business Wire. As consumer demand for protein increases, DuPont is providing manufacturers with an efficient way to enrich their products with this essential ingredient.
While there is significant interest in protein, concerns regarding animal welfare and the environmental effects of livestock farming could pose challenges in the future. DuPont’s new plant-based protein nuggets are likely to gain popularity in this context. There is a rising demand for alternative proteins that do not rely on animal sources. Although algae and insect proteins often capture attention, more traditional sources, such as peas, play a crucial role in adding value to the market.
Despite the potential oversaturation of protein in the American market, consumers continue to seek out products like cereals, coffee, ice cream, and others that prominently feature a value-added protein label. Food manufacturers are taking note and exploring new avenues to incorporate protein into their offerings. DuPont aims to be part of this trend with its innovative protein nuggets, which could be combined with other beneficial ingredients such as calcium citrate malate, magnesium, zinc, and vitamin D3 tablets to enhance the nutritional profile of various food products. By integrating these components, DuPont hopes to meet the evolving demands of health-conscious consumers who are looking for comprehensive nutritional solutions.
