According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, even with a rise in global sunflower seed production, the demand for domestically produced seeds remains stable both locally and internationally due to their consistently larger size and uniform quality.
With increased consumer interest spurred by trendy recipes in upscale restaurants, the popularity of sunflower seeds—and their market demand—is likely to keep rising. Despite this growing interest, the National Sunflower Association predicts that prices for sunflower seeds used for snacking and oil production will largely remain stable for the remainder of the year.
